About three months ago the folks at OtterBox sent me the Defender series case for my brand new iPhone 3GS and it hasn’t been out of it’s protective cocoon since then.
I guess the question is, do you like your iPhone or love it? When I got my iPhone 3GS I knew that this phone was unlike any other phone I have ever owned and the thought is it getting all scratched up or having something spilled on it was out of the question. Having the OtterBox Defender case is nothing short of piece of mind for someone who truly loves their iPhone.
Let me start by describing the OtterBox Defender. It has a solid plastic inner shell that your iPhone sits in and then has a softer rubber exterior case that literally wraps around the plastic inner one. All exposed surface areas of the iPhone are completely covered, including the headphone jack, silent switch and bottom charging/interface plugin port, with soft rubber flaps. There is is even a clear covering over the actual screen area that in no way hampers the operation. As a matter of fact I don’t even realize it’s there.
This is not the first case we have reviewed for OtterBox but the thing that amazes us here at MobiMadness is the fact that the engineering is so exact on everything they make. What I mean by this is that everything fits together perfectly and after 3 months of use, I’m happy to say it looks and fits the same as the day I first started using it.
Even if you don’t own an iPhone yourself, this case makes the perfect gift for a soldier, firefighter, policeman or really any job that can be naturally rough on a phone. I for one have had all of these jobs in the past but now as a corporate professional I still love my OtterBox Defender case and get compliments on it every day.
To make it even more enticing the case comes in a variety of colors including black, white, yellow/black and even all pink for the ladies.
So what are you waiting for, get the first and last case your iPhone will ever need today!
Chevy announced today that they will provide an application for select smartphones (BlackBerry, iPhone and Droid) that will allow Volt owners to control their cars remotely. This works in conjunction with the OnStar system that is standard on select Chevy cars and allows the user to do tasks that previously required the OnStar customer to call a representative to do, such as unlock doors, charge status, and even remotely start the car.
What the heck is the Volt? Well it’s a new car from Chevy that will be launched in November of 2010 and will drive on battery power for up to 40 miles without a recharge.

It’s not very often that a new device comes along that instantly becomes a must have device, but that’s exactly what happened when we we received our SolarCharger 906 from iTech Dynamic.
First off this thing has some serious WOW factor. It’s sleek black case goes perfectly with our Apple iPhones and it even comes with 10 adapters for a plethora of other phones.
What is the SolarCharger 906?
Well as you might have guessed the SolarCharger 906 is a essentially a solar charger with a built in rechargeable battery. When the battery has a full charge, it will provide enough juice to recharge an average phone. Of course you can also charge your phone while the 906 is recharing it’s own battery via sunlight. The SolarCharger 906 also comes with a nice clear plastic holder for mounting it on a window.
There are literally a hundred or more circumstances where having an emergency source of power for a phone would be a life saver and the SolarCharger 906 fits the bill perfectly. Since it has it’s own built-in battery, you can use this to recharge your phone day or night. It’s also small, light weight and rugged enough to be the perfect item for the outdoors person in your family, that crazy survivalist nut on your wife’s side of the family or the tree hugger who wants to save the world one phone charge at a time.

Directed Electronics announced today that they have a new module for their Viper Remote Start System that allows for a car owner to use their iPhone in place of the normal key-fob. Named the Viper SmartStart the application allows you to start your car, unlock doors, open trunk and activate the panic mode all from your iPhone.
The application is a free download from iTunes App Store but the module for your car is $299 and is an addon to an existing Viper installation. If you don’t currently have the Viper system in your car then you can purchase the full meal deal for $499 from Best Buy.

Although this seems pricey, I personally think this is a must have for the iPhone addict and with Christmas just around the corner, I know what I’m asking Santa for.
