According to a recent survey by ChangeWave Research, the Apple iPhone will overtake the BlackBerry smartphone in market share within the next six months. This represents a 5 percent shift in market share for the Apple iPhone ever 3 months.
This dramatic increase on the part of Apple and the iPhone is being attributed to the massive transition of consumers from regular phones to smartphones. Since the iPhone is arguably the most user friendly, with the best interface it’s no wonder that new smartphone users are flocking to Apple’s ranks.
Although this is a large increase, it’s nothing compared to the meteoric rise the iPhone will experience if and when other carriers, namely Verizon, can offer it.
Now if only someone would get up the nerve to actually tell Steve Jobs that the same lack of openness that cost Apple the race with Microsoft just might spell out a similar doom in the iPhone vs. Android competition.
